Halloween Gift Purses

Happy Saturday everyone! Today I have some cute Halloween purse's to show you. Every year I give my girlfriends some kind of treat bag with Bath And Body Works Mini Hand Sanitizers.
I found this idea on Pinterest and you can find the full video tutorial HERE. I did almost everything the same as her except for: the size of the square, She used a 6 inch square and I used a 6 1/2 inch square to accommodate my mini sanitizers. I still scored everything the same as she did. The only other difference was the top trims...mine were cut at 4 inches wide and I only added 1 of the purse handles instead of 2.
These are SUPER easy to make and I think they are CAUUUTE! After I assembled the purses I added center medallions using My Craft Spot's new Tiny Doilies Dies and the Stampin' Around Fall stamp set. I think my girlfriends are going to LOVE these!
Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Be Thankful Candle

Hello everyone! The challenge at Peachy Keen this week is to decorate/stamp a candle. This is a candle that I stamped and decorated. I have had this candle FOREVER!!! You can tell if you look closely at it. I've never burned it, in fact it still had the plastic on it, so it was perfect for decorating for the upcoming Fall season.
I have never actually stamped ON a candle until this project. After I finished mine, I saw the way that other people do it. They stamp their images onto a piece of tissue paper and then glue it onto the candle. I will tell you how I did mine.
I started by using my embossing heat tool and melted the surface of the candle. Very quickly I inked my leaf stamp in a dye based ink, and stamped it into the melted wax. After I stamped it, I heated it up again to help seal in the ink. This did NOT seal the ink in completely, so I used a baby wipe and blotted the surface until all the excess ink came off....otherwise, when you touched it, you would turn red! LOL!
I created the band by cutting a 2 X 12 inch strip of kraft paper and punched the edges. I also ran it through a crimper and inked it all. The tag cluster I made by stamping the images, cutting them out, and distress inked all of them. The tag I stamped using My Craft Spot's new Happy Thanksgiving set. I then added a brad through the center of the tag cluster and threaded raffia around the candle and through the hole. I tied it off and then shredded and crumpled the raffia.
I really like how this turned out! It will look great on my table this fall. Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Falling Leaves

Hello everyone! It's time for a new challenge at My Craft Spot! This week the challenge is "Falling Leaves". Use a fall leaf on your project.
I made this card for my project. I cut the sunflower from Flower Shoppe and inked all the edges. I cut two leaves from Everyday Paper Dolls and inked the edges of these also. The fancy edged mat was cut from Elegant Edges using the card feature. I layered wound up twine behind the flower and layered it on the top corner of the mat. To finish I stamped the sentiment which is from My Craft Spot's Happy Fall stamp set.
I hope you all will play along in the challenge and please don't forget to check out what the rest of the DT has made. Have a great day!

Birthday Elephant

Happy Saturday everyone! I hope you all are enjoying the weekend...I am! My son came home for his first visit since leaving for college 7 weeks ago! I am SO happy to see him!
Here is a card that I made for a couple of challenges. Everything was cut from Birthday Bash. I cut the shaped card base with the star mat and did a stitching line around the star. I cut the elephant, inked the edges, and stamped the eyes with a Peachy Keen face stamp. The banner I made by stamping the image to a banner and inked the edges. I cut a toothpick down and added some twine to the top with a piece of tape. Then I folded over the edge around the toothpick and glued it closed. To finish I added some buttons to the bottom corner.
I am going to enter this into the following challenges:
Die Cuttin Diva's- Include an elephant on your project
Celebrate The Occasion- Birthday and must include twine and at least 1 button
Thanks for stopping in today and have a wonderful weekend!

The Bounty Of The Season

Hello everyone! I have a quick card to show you. I used the NEW My Craft Spot's Happy Thanksgiving stamp set for this card.
For the pumpkin, I paper pieced it from a Peachy Keen stamp. I stamped 3 of them and then cut out the center and the second layer. I inked all the edges and layered it together adding a leaf and a bit of Spring Green twine for the vine. I cut a square for the center mat and did a dotted line around the outside edge. I stamped the sentiment form the Happy Thanksgiving stamp set and added a bow to the top.
I hope you all enjoyed seeing my card and thanks for stopping in today!

Every Day Is A Gift

Hello everyone! It's Monday which means a new challenge at My Craft Spot! This week the challenge is "Wild About You". Include a wild animal in your project.
I saw a card that I just LOVED and used the layout for this card. Sometimes a great layout MAKES the card! I cut the raccoon from Create A Critter and stamped the face with PK face stamps. All of the mats were cut from Elegant Edges and I embossed the white one. I cut banners for the top as well as the bottom and did a white stitching line on them. I added the stamped and embossed sentiment to a punched oval and some sparkly brads. I am somewhat new to the heat embossing, so please don't judge the stamp on my embossing skills! LOL!
I hope you all will play along in the challenge and please don't forget to check out what the rest of the amazing DT has created. Have a great day!

#1 Teacher!

Hello everyone! I have a card to show you that I made for the Peachy Keen challenge which is "Just Cards-Teacher".
I made this card with a special fold. It's called a Duel Fold Card and I saw it HERE. To create this card you cut a 4 1/4 X 11 inch strip of paper and score it at 4 1/4 and 8 1/2. Fold the short flap over onto the card and then using the NEW Tiny Doilies Dies from My Craft Spot, I made the scallop cut out on the fold line. There is little small holes in the die, which are registration marks on where the center is. I lined those dots up on the fold and ran it through my Cuttlebug. I did the same thing with the red mat. I cut the center for the pop up using My Craft Spots Tiny Doilies Dies and the Stampin' Around Fall stamp set for the sentiment and apple. The notebook paper, apple, and pencil were all paper pieced from the Peachy Keen August SOTM kit and I also used the A+ stamp from this kit as well. I stamped the sentiments on the front and inside using My Craft Spot's Thank You stamp set.
I hope you all like my card and thanks for looking! Have a great weekend!

Birthday Sundae

Hello everyone! I have a card to show you today that I did for a couple of challenges.
I cut the ice cream sundae from Birthday Bash and stamped the face with a PK face stamp. I tried a new technique that I saw at Glora's Crafts! She showed her technique on how she uses a Versa Marker to highlight the edges of her cut....this is so cool! Thanks Glora for sharing!
So I used that technique and did the outlining on my sundae cup. I embossed the background mat and used some scallop scissors to cut the purple mat. I stamped the sentiment and added the tag to the side of the mat. To finish I added the ribbon and bow.
I am going to enter this card into the following challenges:
Simply Crafts- Ice Cream Sundae from Birthday Bash
Peachy Keen's color challenge
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Thanks So Much!

The NEW Tiny Doilies Dies from My Craft Spot....SO CUTE!

Hello everyone! Here is a fun card that I made using My Craft Spot's NEW Tiny Doilies Dies! These are SO CUTE!
I cut the bee girl from Paper Doll Dress Up...an oldie, but a goodie! I did some inking on her, used a white gel pen, and stamped her face with a PK Happy Lashes face. I cut her wings from the bee in Create A Critter and attached her to an Itty Bitty Bag. I stamped and embossed the sentiment which is from the Thank You stamp set and attached it to the side of the bag. I cut a simple rectangle and used a corner rounder on the corners for the tag. I glued the gift card directly to the tag and added some Cherry Red twine for the pull. The circle embellishment I created by layering the Tiny Doilies Dies on top of each other and did a black stitching line around the white layer. I added a button with a bow out of Vintage Green Twine to the center.
I am going to enter this into Exploring Cricut's challenge which is to include a person on your project. Thanks for stopping in and have a great day!

My Craft Spot Stamp Fall Release Blog Hop

If you click on the above picture, you can see it a lot bigger.

Hello everyone! IT's FINALLY the day you get to see the full reveal of the new stamps! If you came from My Craft Spot, you're in the right place. If not you will want to start at the beginning at My Craft Spot so you won't miss a thing! You can also see all the new stamp sets there too!
I made this awesome Halloween banner using the new Tiny Doilies Dies, Stampin' Around Fall, and the Spooky Treats Stamp sets for my project.
The banners were cut from Straight From The Nest at 7 inches. I used my sewing machine and sewed a zig zag stitch along the sides of the orange banners. I cut the witch's head out of chunky glitter paper from Happy Haunting. For the center banner I cut the frame from Happy Haunting and used my Gypsy to make it a little wider to accommodate the sentiment. I stamped that awesome sentiment from the Spooky Treats stamp set.
NOW, for the layered ornaments.....I saw something like this on Pinterest and LOVED it. Theirs (can be seen HERE) was made using Stampin' Up stamps and dies, and I set out to re-create one using my Cricut! This is a very time consuming project, but so worth it! I will give you a list of the cuts and quantity and then tell you how to assemble it.
Simply Charmed ornament- 15 at 2 1/2 inches out of white (cut off hanger) for each ornament- 30 total for 2 ornaments
Jolly Holidays- 15 at 2 inches out of black and white poka dot for each ornament- 30 total for 2 ornaments
Here is a cut out sheet for you to see as reference
I chose to stamp my orange and white ones, but you can easily do this with just pattern paper.
Fold all ornaments in half length wise. Assemble each petal by gluing 3 ornaments together. Here's what they will look like
When you get all of your petals assembled, you will glue them to the outside of a 3 inch circle
(these are shown is reverse colors)
Next you will cut a 1 1/4 X 12 inch strip of paper and score every 1/4 inch till the 12 inch end. Then fold back and forth on each other to create the pleated fold for the rosette center. Glue ends together and ink edges in black. Then glue rosette to a 1 inch circle. For the center of the rosette I used My Craft Spot's new Tiny Doilies Dies and layered them on top of each other. I stamped the center die with the pumpkin stamp from the Stampin' Around Fall stamp set and did a black stitching line. I glued them to the top of the rosette and pop dotted the rosette to the center of the circle using 3 pop dots layered on top of each other.
I thread all the banner pieces onto black yarn and tied Marmalade and Midnight Black crinkle ribbon in between each banner.

Now for the BEST part! Each one of us is giving away 1 one the new stamp sets! All you have to do is leave a comment on all the blogs through the hop, and that will give you a total of 9 chances!

Day 5 Of My Craft Spots Fall Release Party

Hello everyone! It's the last day of sneak peeks for My Craft Spot's new releases! Tomorrow we will be having a BLOG HOP with the full release of the stamp sets! There will also be a new stamp set up for grabs at every stop in the hop.
Today we are giving sneak peeks of the new Happy Thanksgiving Stamp Set. I made this shaped card to show you. I created the shape card by cutting 2 shadow layers or the basket and glued and scored it across the top. The basket was cut from Doodlecharms and I added brads to it. I think the woven decorative paper really gives this card lots of character. The pumpkins and vines were cut from the Thanksgiving cart. I cut the vines off the main cut and re-arranged them where I wanted. I sandwiched them in between the front and back of the card. To finish I added the tag that I stamped with a sentiment from the Happy Thanksgiving stamp set and added some brads.
Thanks so much for visiting all week long for the sneak peeks! I hope you enjoyed all the projects I shared this week and have inspired you! Make sure you go to My Craft Spot for the daily prize and come back tomorrow for the BLOG HOP! There will be lots of great projects and a stamp set will be given away at each blog in the hop! Have a great day!

Day 4 Of My Craft Spots Fall Release Party

Hello everyone! Day 4 of My Craft Spot's sneak peeks, and only 2 days until the full release and BLOG HOP!!! Are you getting excited yet? Make sure you go over to My Craft Spot everyday this week for a daily prize. And come back on Saturday for the Blog Hop where you could win a new stamp from each blog in the hop!
Today we are giving sneak peeks of the new Ghostly Greetings stamp set. I made a card with matching broom treat bag. For the card, I bought my first ever digital file from Cricut. I really liked this witch from the A Frightful Affair cartridge and it was available for .79 cents to use in Cricut Craft Room. I changed her up a little by giving her stripes on her hat and adding Glossy Accents to the hat stripes and her boots. The culdron came with the file and I added Glossy Accents to it and a bat button. The spider is a sticker and I hand drew the line. I added some purple crinkle ribbon and curly cues for the "brew". On the side I added a spiderweb punched border strip and sewed a line up the side. I stamped the sentiment from the new Ghostly Greetings and added it to a mat that I tore the edges of.
The broom was created buy using brown paper lunch bags that I re-sized. The pattern I found called for the use of the bag in whole, and it was just to big for what I wanted so I made it smaller. I tied it shut over a stick the I got from my yard with black crinkle ribbon. I stamped the sentiment onto the tag using the Ghostly Greeting stamp set and added a moon button.
Thanks for stopping in today and don't forget to head over to My Craft Spot for more sneak peeks and the daily prize! Have a great day!
