Rock Princess Birthday Gift Card Holder

Hello everyone! Here is a gift card holder Birthday card that I made. I used my Imagine for all the cuts and pattern papers. I saw this card on Gloria's bog while I was "casing it" for the Crafty Sprouts challenge and thought it would be fun to make.

I cut the girl from Rock Princess ar 3.5 inches and used Glossy Accents on her eyes, lips, hairbands, guitar, and boots. The music notes were cut from Life's A Party and I also used Glossy Accents on them as well. The music paper was printed from Imagine More and the pink paper was printed from Mr. Frosty. I tied a ribbon and stamped the sentiment and the sentiment on the inside which is from Whimsical Designs Everyday Sentiments.
For the inside of the card I made the gift card holder and glued it to the center of the card. To do this I cut a 4.5 X 11 inch piece of cardstock and scored it at 3 inches from each long end and then scored it at 5.5 inches in the middle. When you fold it you will got the shape of the letter W. I then trimmed the middle peak down with scissors and a punch to get the pocket for the gift card. I wanted a larger card than just the gift card holder itself so thats why I glued it to the center of the card. I then added the pink paper over the top of the panels to hide the gift card holder inside. This card is VERY thick! LOL!
I am going to enter this into the following challenges:
1. Crafty Sprouts- Case the DT- I cased Gloria's gift card holder card, you can enter up to 2 times
2. Scrappy Moms Terrific Tuesday- Rock Princess
3. Birthday Sundaes- Any Birthday card and include a birthday sentiment on the front
I hope you all liked my card and thanks for looking! Have a wonderful weekend!

Love Struck

If you are looking for the Whimsical Wednesday post please see post below.
Hello everyone! Today I have a super fun card to show you that I did for a couple of challenges.
The squirrel was cut from Birthday Bash at 3.5 inches and I stamped the face with a Peachy Keen Wide eyed and Bushy Tailed face stamp. The flowers were cut from Sweethearts at 2 inches and I added a bow and used a Viva Decor Pearl Pen to add the dots in the center of the flowers. To create the photo I cut a 2.75 X 2.75 inch square for the picutre part and a 3 X 3.5 inch for the mat. I glued the squirrel to the 2.75 inch square and trimmed him to fit inside. I inked around all the edges and stamped the sentiment which is from Whimsical Designs With Love stamp set.
For the tickets I printed a blank digi that I can't remember where I found and stamped the sentiment which is also from Whimsical Designs With Love set. I inked around the edges and added them to the card using a heart paper clip. To finish I added 3 buttons to the corner of the card.
I am going to enter this into the following challenges:
1. Die Cuttin Diva's- Buttons, Bling, and or Bows
2. Crafty Sprouts- Case our DT- I used Jess's card for my inspiration
3. Fantabulous Cricut- Labels

"Love Is In The Air" Whimsical Wednesday Challenge

Hello everyone! It's time for a new Whimsical Wednesday Challenge. This time the challenge is to create a Valentine's Day home decor, or any home decor project that has to do with LOVE.
I created this paper basket. It was kind of a pain to put togehter and quite time consuming but I like how it turned out. I found THIS pattern and used it to create my basket.
For the sides I made paper flowers using Flower Shoppe and added heart brads to the centers. For the front I added that super cute owl sticker that was from a set that I bought at Wal-Mart for .97 cents! I hand cut the tag and stamped it with a stamp from Whimsical Designs With Love stamp set and glued it behind the sticker. Don't you just LOVE that sentiment! To finish I added the handle which I punched with a Martha Stewart border punch. Here is a picture of the stamp set I used:
I hope you all will play along in the challenge and please don't forget to check out what the rest of the Design Team has made. Have a great day!

Be Mine

Hello everyone! I have a card to show you today that I designed in CCR...Cricut Craft Room. This was the first time I played with my Expression and not my Imagine using CCR. I saw this post over at Cooking With Cricut and it totally inspired me to try this out. She made her bee using nothing but Spellbinders dies where as I used nothing but CCR and George and Basic Shapes. Here is a picture of the screen on my computer so you can see the shapes that I used to make this cutie

The stripes I had to trim down after I glued them onto the body and for the face I did NOT weld the triangle so it would cut that out of the oval. The small oval is what I used for the antenna's by cutting a strip off each side. I stamped the face with a Peachy Keen Wide Eyes Kids face stamp and used a white pen for the highlighting. (This flesh colored cardstock is from Archivers and I just HATE that it has those stripes to it. Can anybody suggest where to get flesh colored cardstock? I only buy it at Archivers because I can't find it anywhere else.) To finish I added some ribbon and stamped the sentiment which is from Whimsical Designs With Love stamp set.
I have been so inspired by this that I am going to see what else I can create in CCR using just shapes.
I hope you all have a great day and thanks for looking!

Pocket Full Of Flowers

Hello everyone! I have a super cute card to show you today that I did for Peachy Keens Peachy Challenge. This week the challenge is POCKETS.
I know that I have been using this face set alot, but I can't help it! They are SO DARN CUTE! So I hope you all don't get sick of seeing them...LOL!
All the flowers were cut from Mothers Day Bouquet and I stamped the faces using the Cornies face assortment. The pocket I cut by hand and did a faux stitching line around it. I also added brads to the corners as well as the corners of the card. All of the sentiments are from Whimsical Designs. I stamped the Woo Hoo sentiment, matted it, and added it as a tag to the side of the pocket. I stamped the main sentiment and used a corner rounder on the corners. The tag I also cut buy hand and used a corner rounder on the corners. I added a circle tab to the top of the tag which I added an eyelet and twine to and stamped the sentiments.
I hope you all like my card as much as I do! Thanks for looking and have a great weekend!
Just wanted to mention that there is a new challenge blog launching on February 14! Go check it out HERE!

Come On Baby Light My Fire

Happy Friday everyone! Don't you just love the name of my post today? Hee Hee! I love that song and it is so fitting for this card seeing as how I kinda went pyro on it. Pyro? Yes, I lit almost everything on fire! LOL!
I started by emossing the background with the Cuttlebug Snowflakes folder and inking over the high spots with white ink. I then lit all the edges on fire to get this cool look. The snowflake was cut from Winter Lace and I made a rossette and punched the edges with a Martha Stewart border punch. And then, I lit it all the edges on fire. I actually burned down the holes from the border punch so the appear to be open. I stamped the sentiment which is from Whimsical Designs Snow Much Fun stamp set and burned the edges of the mat too. (P.S. Did you know there is a Design Team call going on for Whimsical Designs Stamps? If you're interested head over to Whimsical Designs and click on the contact button at the top of the page.)
To finish I added some ribbon and a bow with a button center. I really like how this technique looks, but be warned, I burnt my fingers a little! LOL!
I am going to enter this into the following challenges:
1. My Craft Spots Monday Challenge- Snow Much Fun
2. Fantabulous Cricut- Snow Fun
3. The Paper Variety- Use a fan fold embellishment
Thanks for looking and have a wonderful weekend!

Whimsical Wednesdays " Anything Goes" Challenge

Hello everyone! It's time for a new Whimsical Wednesday Challenge. This time the challenge is ANYTHING GOES.
Whimsical Designs is having a design team call for the upcoming term. Anyone who is interested in becoming a designer should click on the contact button at the Whimsical Designs Blog and e-mail Stephanie for more information.

For my project I created this super fun card. I cut a 4 inch circle from George and Basic Shapes for the background mat and stamped the hearts and sentiment around the outside which are both from Whimiscal Designs With Love stamp set.

The monster was cut from Mini Monsters at 3 inches and I stamped the face with a Peachy Keen Cornie face stamp. To create the pleated ribbon, I ran ATG tape around the back side of the 4 inch stamped circle and pleated the ribbon around the outside. I then added another 4 inch circle to the back to sandwich in the ribbon. To finish I used a decorative corner punch and filled in the design with stickles.
I hope you will all play along this week and please don't forget to check out what the rest of the DT had created. Have a great day!
I am going to enter this at Celebrate The Occasion where the challenge is Poka Dots.

Hello Kitty Treat Cover

Hello everyone! Here is a super simple and quick treat box cover that I did. I cut a 3.75 X 5.75 piece of cardstock and because it was to hard to figure out where exactly to score, I just used the box and folded the edges up. I then cut slightly smaller pieces of decorative paper and glued them to the front, spine, and back, adding a ribbon underneath for the closure. I cut Hello Kitty from Hello Kitty Greetings at 2.5 inches and added Glossy Accents to the nose and eyes. I stamped the sentiment which is from Whimsical Designs Whimsical Fun Vol. 1:

I am going to enter this into Scrappy Moms Terrific Tuesday challenge which is to use cartoon characters.
Have a great day and thanks for looking!

Got Cake?

Happy Friday everyone! I have a card to show you today that I did for a couple of challenges and to add to my Birthday card stash.
I cut the card base and mats from Sugar And Spice. I welded two scallop circles together in my Gypsy to make the card base. I used the Sew Easy and did a line around the inside of the mat with orange floss. The cake was cut from Smiley Cards at 3 inches and I stamped the face with a Peachy Keen Cornie Face stamp. I used a white pen for the dots and added Glossy Accents to the eyes, teeth, and candle flames. The tag was a sticker from my stash and I stamped the sentiment which is from Whimsical Designs Everyday Sentiments. Here is a picture of the set I used:

I am going to enter this card into the following challenges:
1. My Craft Spot Monday Challenge- It's Delicious
2. Birthday Sundaes- Birthday card and include a Birthday sentiment on the front

Whimsical Wednesdays "Let's Get Sketchy" Challenges

Hello everyone! It's time for a new Whimsical Wednesday Challenge. This time the challenge is to use the sketch to create a card. Our own Nanne designed this sketch and we are being sponsored by Stamp Fairy this week. One winner will recieve $10.00 worth of digi's from their shop. They have some SUPER CUTE images including the one that I used for my project today!

I just love how this card turned out and I ADORE the image. This image is from the Stamp Fairy and it's called Barry Throughout The Year #1. I colored it with Copics and added glitter stickles to all the white parts. I used the Lacey Circles Nestitbility for the mat and I used my sewing machine to stitch around the outer edges of the card. The tree I made by cutting a simple triangle shape and then adding punched snowflakes that were folded in half to make the branches. After it was all done I added white dimentional glue to them for the snow. I stamped the sentiment which is from Whimsical Designs Snow Much Fun set to a banner that I cut by hand and mounted it on pop dots.

I hope you will all play along this week and don't forget to check out what the rest of the DT has made!

Cupcake Valentine

Hello everyone! Here is a card that I made for the Simply Crafts challenge. This time the challenge is to use this capcake cut from Sweet Treats.
I cut the cupcake at 3.5 inches. I added twine onto the frosting layer by first covering the entire top with ATG tape and then rolling the twine around. For the heart layer I added a heart brad to the center and inked the edges. The bottom sewing line was done with my new Sew Easy. I couldn't wait to play with it. After I sewed the line I added white dots with dimentional glue. I stamped the sentiment and embossed it. That lovely saying is from Whimsical Designs With Love stamp set.
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Sprinkled With Love

Hello everyone! Here is a card that I made for Peachy Keens LFIF challenge. This time the challenge was a color challenge. For some reason I really struggled with this.

I cut and printed the salt and pepper shakers using my Imagine and Kate's Kitchen. I used CCR to fit the circle for the faces and then cut them out of peach colored cardstock. I then stamped the faces with Peachy Keens Cornies faces. I ADORE these faces with their little teeth...hee hee hee!  I stamped the sentiment that I though was PERFECT for this card. "Sprinkled Whith Love", It is from Whimsical Designs With Love stamp set. To finish I added a ribbon and tulle bow.
Thanks for stopping to look and have a great weekend!

Whimsical Wednesdays "On The Edge" Challenge

Hello everyone! It's time for a new Whimsical Wednesdays challenge. This week the challenge is to create any project or card and include a border on it. This weeks challenge is being sponsored by CropStop. They are generously giving one lucky winner a NEW EK Success Edge Punch called Doily Petals. It's a new punch designed to create flowers. Here is a picture of it. How cool does that look!

For my card I tried to venture out of my norm. If you visit regularly, you know that I usually do cutesy projects. This time I did a shabby chic card. I assembled the base of my card by layering several colors and a band in the middle that I cut with pinking sheers...at least that's what I call them. I inked all the edges with distress ink and sewed around the edges with my sewing machine. On the side I added a border strip that was cut using my Imagine and the Yummy cartridge. To save you some hassle, I will tell you that it was cut at .9 inches. That was the size that finally fit my card perfectly. I added some ribbon over the side edge and added a bow. The center mat was cut from the Lacey Circles Nestability Die and I stamped the sentiment which is from Whimsical Designs With Love stamp set. If you are looking for some fun stamps for Valentines Day, I highly recommend this set! To finish I added prima flowers with brad centers. I will tell you a tip that I learned while making this card: I only had bright pink flowers...NOT the right color for this card. So I experimented and ended up coloring over them with my Sand colored PrismaColor Marker...And it created this beautiful rose color! Just something to keep in mind if your ever in need to change the color of an embellishment.
I hope you all liked my card and will play along this week. Please don't forget to check out what the rest of the amazing Design Team had created. Have a great day!
