Boo To You!

If you are looking for the Exploring Cricut Guest Designer project, please see post just below this one!

Hello everyone! It's time for a new challenge at My Craft Spot. This week the challenge is "Boo To You" Halloween themed projects.
Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year for paper crafting. I LOVE making fun monster cards and treat containers! LOL!
I had an idea that I wanted to have my dracula leaning out of a window so this is what I came up with. The idea sprang up after seeing THIS fabulous card by Leanne from Created By Leanne.
I created the window by cutting the fancy bottom frame from Elegant Edges and an inside panel using squares from Plantin Schoolbook. I inked the edges in white for more dimension and added the stamped and embossed sentiment. The dracula was cut from Mini Monsters and I stamped the face with a Peachy Keen face stamp. I did a white stitching line to his cape and glued him to the frame. Then I layered some vellum behind for the window. I embossed the background and added a bow. I also finished the inside of the card with matching paper and stamped the sentiment.
I hope you all will play along this week and please don't forget to check out what the rest of the amazing DT has created. Have a great day!

Snowman Box

Hello everyone! It's time for a new challenge at My Craft Spot! This week the challenge is "Christmas In July". Create a card or box.
I was inspired by THIS adorable box from Lauren's Creative to create my box. It is a super simple project and who wouldn't love to get a present in this?!?! Everything is out of paper, including the bow. I made a simple box and made the bow using THIS tutorial. I cut my strips as follows: 5 strips at 1X6, and 5 strips at 1X5. I also punched holes in the ends and assembled mine with a brad instead of glue dots. I love to do non-traditional colors, they're so much fun! So I used my new Recollections Jolly Holiday paper pad that I bought at Michaels last week. YA! Last week! They have Christmas out already! LOL! The snowman head was made by layering a scallop circle and 2 smaller circles that I cut on my Cricut. Then I stamped the face with a Peachy Keen face and mounted it to the center on 3 pop dots. I hand cut the banner and stamped the sentiment.
Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you'll play along. Don't forget to check out what the rest of the DT has created! Have a great day!

I LOVE 4th of July! It's such a fun time of year so I made this fun card!  I stamped the image, the sparkler, and stars. I added red dots and extra lines to the sparkler and colored them with copics. The oval mats were cut from Plantin Schoolbook and the scallop mat from Elegant Edges. I punched a border strip for the side, and added some twine. Thinking of You

Hello everyone! Did any of you attend the June release party at Peachy Keen last night? WOW! The new stamps they have coming out this month are BEYOND cute! I can't wait to get mine!
Along with the release they always have a couple of challenges. So this card was made for one of those  challenges and Fantabulous Cricut's Don't Bug Me challenge.
I stamped and paper pieced the ladybug. I added some black stickles to her spots and inked around all the edges. The circle was cut from Plantin Schoolbook and the scallop circle was cut from Elegant Edges. I used a white pen and made a stitching line around the scallops. To finish I added the ribbon and stamped the sentiments.

Bath Sign

Hello everyone! As I said in my last post, I have another recycling project to show you. It might be considered an upcycling project, I'm not sure! LOL! I could have SWORN that I took a picture of the original frame, but I can't find it anywhere on my camera. This started out as a white washed frame with a poster in the center. I bought it years ago and it was in my living room forever! I just recently re- designed my bathroom and saw a sign like this and thought it would be so cool in my bathroom. So I designed my own!
I started by spray painting the entire thing black. While it was drying I got out my wonderful Gypsy and designed this sign. I used Art Nouveau for the "bath and 5c" and Plantin Schoolbook for the bottom lines. I then cut this whole thing out of vinyl. I have only cut vinyl one other time, so I am pretty happy with how this turned out. I used transfer tape, cut it down to the exact size of the inside of my frame, and applied it to the middle. By cutting the exact size it ensured that it would be centered when I applied it to the frame. And just like that, instant bath art!
I hope you like my new bathroom sign, because I LOVE it! And the best part, it costed me nothing! I had all the supplies on hand. Thanks for looking and have a great day!

The monkey was cut from Life's A Party and I stamped his face with a PK Wide Eyed and Bushy Tailed face stamp. The oval mats were cut from Plantin Schoolbook. I hand cut the sentiment banners and stamped all the sentiments from Whimsical Designs
I hope you all have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Halloween Hello Kitty Style

IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR THE WHIMSICAL WEDNESDAYS POST, PLEASE SEE POST BELOW!
Happy Friday everyone! I made this super cute bag to enter into a couple of challenges. I LOVE Hello Kitty and this bag. It turned out so cute.
I cut the bag from Plantin School book and used my Gypsy to cut out the circle in the center front. I also sized and cut the web for the front from Mini Monsters. I glued the web to the back side of the front in the open circle. I  cut a slightly smaller circle for the back inside of the bag. I cut Hello Kitty from Hello Kitty Greetings and added Stickles to her bow and sucker. I did a white stitching line around the bag, tied a crinkle ribbon bow, and added 3D spider stickers that were from Recollections set.
I am going to enter this into the following challenges:
1. Bitten By The Bug 2: Hello Kitty Halloween Challenge
2. More Than Favors Wacky Wednesday: Halloween
3. Crafty Sprouts: Candy Goes Here

Girly Grad Cards

Hello everyone! Here are some graduation cards that I did for my Niece and my son's girlfriend. I did each card in the school colors for each girl. I also did a little different sizing on the orange one. That was the second one I did and figured I could go a little bigger on the font. I cut the girl from Forever Young at 4 inches and highlighted her dress with a white gel pen. The grad cap is from Everyday Paper Dolls that I custom sized in my Gypsy. The font was cut at 1.5 inches and the 2011 was cut at .5 inches from Plantin Schoolbook. To finish I tied a ribbon and stamped the "congrats". I am going to enter this into My Craft Spot's Monday Challenge #8 which the theme is "congratulations". I hope you all like my cards and thanks for looking! Have a great day!

Peeps

Good morning everyone! How funny is this card? More Than Favors Wacky Wednesday challenge this week is Something Funny so I got this crazy idea to do a PEEPS candy card and this is what was the end result! LOL! I cut the bunnies from Doodlecharms at 1.5 inches and applied Fun Flock to them to give them the sugar coated look. I added the eyes and noses with a black pen. The "Peeps" logo was cut from George- the ovals, and "Peeps" from Plantin Schoolbook. To finish the card I tied a ribbon around it and added the tag which was stamped with a Scrappy Mom stamp. I am also going to enter this into Die Cuttin Divas challenge which is any kind of Easter cut. I hope you all are having a great day and come back at 7 pm EST for the Whimsical Wednesday Blog Hop! It will be LOTS of fun!

Easter Egg Hunt

Happy Sunday everyone. I am back with another layout. I am so happy that I got 2 done this weekend. Only ALOT more to go in the next 2.5 months! LOL! For this layout I did an Easter layout. The grass was cut from Plantin Schoolbook custom sized in my Gypsy. The basket and eggs were cut from Doodlecharms and I highlighted them with a black pen and embossed some of them with Swiss Dots. The bunny was cut from Create A Critter and the title from Robots. I am going to enter this into CARDZ TV's Bunny Challenge and More Than Favors CCCC challenge which was to use Doodlecharms.
