This week the challenge is "Ribbon and Twine" Create any project but include ribbon and twine.
I made this get well soup card for my project today. I think this would be such a nice gift to give someone feeling under the weather.
I started by creating the card and pocket inside. Here are the directions on how to make one for yourself-
1. Cut a 5 X 10 1/2 inch piece of cardstock and score at 4 3/4 and 5 3/4- this will be your card
2. Cut a 7 X 4 inch piece of cardstock for pocket. Score at 1/2 and 1 1/4 inches on the 2 short sides and 1 long side. You will then cut away the bottom corners to look like this:
3. On the inside of the card, glue you pocket in, lining it up with bottom of card cover. This pocket is the perfect size for a packet of soup!
I cut the rooster from a Lettering Delights file called Rise and Shine and used my sewing machine to stitch around the mat. Before I added the mat, I glued the
Cream and Black ribbon from My Craft Spot to the card.
I stamped the sentiment from My Craft Spot's
Feel Better Soon stamp set and mounted it with brads. I also added a button with some
Vintage Cherry twine to the front.
On the inside I stamped the sentiment from MCS's
Feel Better Soon and the sentiment in front of the soup from My Craft Spot's
Cute Critters stamp set.
I hope you will all play along in the challenge and please don't forget to check out what the rest of the DT has created! Have a great day!
