Whimsical Wednesdays "On The Edge" Challenge

Hello everyone! It's time for a new Whimsical Wednesdays challenge. This week the challenge is to create any project or card and include a border on it. This weeks challenge is being sponsored by CropStop. They are generously giving one lucky winner a NEW EK Success Edge Punch called Doily Petals. It's a new punch designed to create flowers. For my card I tried to venture out of my norm. If you visit regularly, you know that I usually do cutesy projects. This time I did a shabby chic card. I assembled the base of my card by layering several colors and a band in the middle that I cut with pinking sheers...at least that's what I call them. I inked all the edges with distress ink and sewed around the edges with my sewing machine. On the side I added a border strip that was cut using my Imagine and the Yummy cartridge. To save you some hassle, I will tell you that it was cut at .9 inches. That was the size that finally fit my card perfectly. I added some ribbon over the side edge and added a bow. The center mat was cut from the Lacey Circles Nestability Die and I stamped the sentiment which is from Whimsical Designs With Love stamp set. If you are looking for some fun stamps for Valentines Day, I highly recommend this set! To finish I added prima flowers with brad centers. I will tell you a tip that I learned while making this card: I only had bright pink flowers...NOT the right color for this card. So I experimented and ended up coloring over them with my Sand colored PrismaColor Marker...And it created this beautiful rose color! Just something to keep in mind if your ever in need to change the color of an embellishment.

Tacky Tuesday Challenge #8

Hello everyone! I have a card to show today that I did for the Tacky Tuesday Challenge. This time the challenge is to use some kind of cold treat and use the word sweet.

I printed and cut the banana split sundae from the Yummy cart using my Imagine. I did it in layers and used Glossy Accents on the chocolate sauce, cherry, and bowl. I also cut the circle and scallop circle using the stock images in the Imagine and the pattern paper from Yummy. The sentiment I stamped and cut the banner by hand. I mounted the middle of it to a pop dot and glued down the sides to get the wave effect. I hope you all like my card and thanks for looking! Have a great day!

Make A Big Wish

Hello everyone! I have had some requests from family members for birthday cards so here is one I made. I printed and cut the cake using my Imagine. It was cut at 4 inches from Yummy. I added Glossy Accents on the tray and candles. I used my white gel pen to do some stitching and cut strips for the scallop border using my scallop scissors. To finish I stamped the sentiment and added a bow. I am going to enter this into My Craft Spots Monday challenge. The challenge this week is How Sweet It Is. Birthday Cat

Hello everyone! Here is the card that I did for several challenges. I used the stock square image in my Imagine and filled it with the pattern paper from Yummy. The cat was cut at 3 inches from Imagine More and I used Glossy Accents on his smile! The banner was cut from Birthday Bash at .75 inches and I stamped the letters happy as well as birthday. I am going to enter this into the following challenges

Imagine Best Friends Card #1

Hello everyone! I managed to get some things cut and print using my Imagine before I had to send it back and decided to do a card set. This is card #1 in a set of 5. I wanted to use these cute girls from Imagine Best Friends and make an everyday card set. So here we go! :)

I printed and cut the background from the square stock image in the Imagine at 5 inches and filled it with pattern paper using the Yummy cart. For the water I printed and cut a strip of co-ordinating colored paper and cut a wavy line using just a pair of scissors. I then embossed it with the Devine Swirls Cuttlebug folder and inked white over the raised images. I cut the girl at 3.5 inches from Best Friends and used Glossy Accents on her eyes, hair, goggles, and duck tube. The goggles and duck are popped up with pop dots as well as the suns face. The sun was cut at 1.5 inches from Imagine More and I used Glossy Accents on the top layer of his face. To finish I matted it to a 5 1/8 square card and stamped the sentiment. The stamp is from a set I picked up at JoAnn a long time ago. I hope you all like the first card in my set and will come back to see the next 4! Have a great day!
