Hello friends and welcome to our first day of April Sneak Peeks at Peachy Keen Stamps! This month we’ve got a little bit of retro fun to share with you as we bring back the spirit of the 50′s with the adorable images Kathy has created! This collection has so many wonderful images that will bring memories of great times past, so make plans to join us each evening this week as we take you on a stroll down memory lane.
This evening, we begin the fun with the new Stamp of the Month stamp set PKSC-28 April 2014. Pink flamingos, neon signs for the diner window, and fabulous faces and phrases to go with them! There is more fun than you can imagine with this set! Be sure to stop by the Peachy Keen Stamps Blog to see all of the wonderful projects our talented team has created to share!
I have 2 cards to share today, so here is the first one I created. I am LOVING this retro look!
The card base was cut using SVG Cutting Files Trapezoid Card Base and everything on the card is stamped using the new April SKOTM set. I colored everything with Copic markers and added some stickles to all the "sparkles"
I stamped the sentiment into the sign and also into the arrow. The arrow was cut using the Jaded Blossom Layer Frame and Journal Die set.
I stamped the bigger "sparkles" into the circles and used my 3/4 inch circle punch to punch them out. I added a strip of ribbon to the bottom of the card and pop dotted each punched circle to it.
And here is my second card. These flamingo's are SO PRETTY!
And here is my second card. These flamingo's are SO PRETTY!
I stamped and colored the flamingo with Copic markers. I hand cut it out and layered her on pop dots. I used my Cameo to cut the circle and scallop circle mat and embossed the white one and background with the Sizzix Babys Breath embossing folder. Then sentiment was stamped using the new April SOTM set and I mounted that under the square mat.
I also used my sewing machine to stitch around the square layers and added some candy dots around the white mat.
